What impact, if any, does the HST have on the cultural sector in BC?

  • Postive impact, eg. consolidating the PST and GST has simplified bookeeping and reduced organizations' operating costs
  • No impact, eg. the cost of most programs to audiences / members has remained the same
  • Somewhat negative impact, eg. household costs have increased and people have fewer dollars to spend on cultural programs
  • Very negative impact, eg. some programs used to be exempt from at least one of the old taxes and now are taxed at the higher HST rate
