NG Farrell Marketing

In celebration of 2010 Oncology Nursing Day, we are pleased to join the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology in launching their new brand today.

Since January, the team at NG Farrell has worked closely with CANO staff and board in a number of brand planning activities, resulting in a new, comprehensive brand plan. Through this process, a new brand mission and vision were developed, in addition to the identification of brand objectives and characteristics. From this, a new logo and wordmark were developed. The new CANO logo icon features an illustrative human element, denoting leadership, unity, passion and action. Its wordmark typefaces denote professionalism, science, methodology and high standards, while its colours convey enthusiasm and positivism. A new brand colour palette of principal and complementary colours was created.

For typefaces, Lucida Bright was selected for its contrasting strokes and serifs. Franklin Gothic was selected for its realist sans-serif appeal.

The CANO brand plan also includes usage instructions for the new brand components. It also details the organization's new approach to image usage, and concludes with a brand change analysis and action plan.

NG Farrell is pleased to be retained by CANO for the on-going implementation of its new brand. The organization’s website was recently redesigned by us to reflect the new branding. Currently, new corporate brand templates are being developed by our creative team, and will be released as the organization moves towards its 2010 Annual Conference in September, for which NG Farrell will be designing communications and event collateral.

The new look designed for CANO was also noticed by the design community in Canada, including a very positive review on Design Edge Canada.
